PAK vs AFG Pakistan Tour of Afghanistan 2nd T20s Preview:

Naseen Shah’s two sixes didn’t get old as two new Afghan sixes on his wayward Yorkers created new history and cemented their lead over Pakistan in the very first bilateral series. The question in not that if Babar Azam , Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi were part of this squad, could this history have been reversed, but the question I whether these young faces of Pakistan had the ability to keep Afghanistan under control Saim Ayub’s consecutive storming innings in the PSL Zaman Khan has earned the status of a last over specialist in a short career it was not long ago that Mohammad Haris was the key to bring Pakistan slump to  the finals in the T20 World Cup, while Abdullah Shafiq played an innings on par with greatest stars of the game early in his career.

The spin was not as good as it was in the previous match, but it was tough for the batsmen. Here, it was necessary to stop extending the innings, but the Afghan pacers were so accurate and moving that no action plan was possible except Harris’s counter-aggression. But the deliberate mistake made by Shadab khan, was actually killing the Pakistani batting and the competitive combination could not be assured from the pitch, where the Pakistani bowling would have got room for mistakes, Shadab khan has always been effective as a batsman when he has been given the opportunity to stay at the crease as much as possible and it is certainly not hidden from him that in T20 batting, it is the middle order that dictates the direction of the innings. The most successful teams field their most experienced batsmen at number four.

Shadab khan was the most experienced batsman in this batting order and out of nowhere, he preferred to bat at number seven, although he later proved to be the most effective middle order player along with Imad Wasim. this is where things could have been completely different if those pressure surges had been a shield for their budding batsmen. The courage and persistence shown by Imad Wasim could have been done by Shadab khan too, but his foresight come in and he would have been better off staying in the dressing room until the death overs, although if Pakistan’s batting could have added 140 runs

here, this pitch would have but with the same bowling attack it was possible to defend. But the tragedy is that even in the midst of bowling changer, Shadab khan came close to victory and went to defeat. Naseem Shah’s first over was also no different from his last over and his unwarranted effort on the pitch demanding accuracy deserved the same result, but Ehsanullah and Zaman khan brought the pressure back to the Afghan openers and in the middle overs.

Mohammad Nawaz’s spell produced a call for boundaries. Shadab khan himself conceded just one run in his third over but with spin proving so effective, Shadab khan and Umar Gul tried to capitalize on Naseem shah experience. while the slow ball was taking hold of the wicket and giving the batsmen trouble in timing, as Naseem Shah came in, the ball started hitting the middle of the bat and the scorecard,

which had been stagnant for several overs, went fast again. The range of Possibilities for Shadab khan was too wide for him to cope with and conceded eleven overs to the pacers despite having three spinners available while Naseem shah was proving costly from the very first over. There was no need to drop a wicket here. All that was needed was to bring the situation to such a level that the pressure of the run rate would have got on the nerves and the Afghan batting would have suffered a ridiculous collapse and even if wickets were meant to be taken, Imad Wasim’s slower Yorkers, from Naseem shah faster Yorkers. they could have been effective somewhere, but the match was lost.
